Laud a Librarian contest
Let us know when you discover great guides and learning objects created by librarians at your or other academic libraries. Maybe you're answering a question on AskAway and discover the amazing resource that another librarian has put together. Well, don't keep it a secret! Let us know! We'll ask that librarian for permission to include their learning object in LINK. This will help other librarians discover that learning object too.
Laud a Librarian builds on some of our profession's greatest strengths - providing access to great collections and collaborating with our talented colleagues. With Laud a Librarian, we continue the tradition by providing more access to the great librarian learning objects created by our colleagues and at the same time bring to the librarian community more great work to develop and use in our instructions. Win Win. Speaking of winning, there will be lots of great prizes again this year for the nominators and the nominees awarding the fantastic contributions to the ALPS LINK. I guess that makes it Win Win Win!
To enter the contest, send an email to: Gordon Coleman or Heather Morrison at office@eln.bc.ca with the following information: Name of nominator Name of nominee (i.e. the creator/s - librarian/s) The title of the learning object URL or digitized copy
The winners of Laud a Librarian will be announced at the ALPS meeting in December. The final date for nominations is Friday, November 14, 2008.
